NEW LOUISIANA PUBLIC BROADCASTING TRAVEL SERIES TAKES VIEWERS ON A JOURNEY ACROSS ALL 64 LOUISIANA PARISHES

BATON ROUGE, La. – Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB), with the support of Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and Keep Louisiana Beautiful, is airing a new original travel series exploring all 64 parishes.

The LA64 series will take viewers off the beaten path to experience local traditions and all things that make each community distinctive – from its food to its architecture.

“This series invites viewers to explore every corner of Louisiana from our hidden gems to the people, places, and traditions that shape our extraordinary history and culture,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “LA64 showcases the authentic stories that make each parish and community truly special.”

LPB’s LA64 road trip through Louisiana takes you along the many trails and byways, to visit mom and pop shops, local restaurants, full of adventure and experiences.

“Every parish in Louisiana has a story worth telling. We hope LA64 inspires both visitors and residents to take a staycation or travel across the state to experience how communities are preserving, celebrating, and sharing Louisiana’s rich heritage,” said Lt. Governor Nungesser.

“We have had such a tremendous response since this week's broadcast premiere of LA64. In fact, the first episode featuring Vermilion Parish is setting new records on LPB's YouTube Channel, which shows just how much excitement there is for this series.” said Clarence “C.C” Copeland, LPB President & CEO. “LA64 is what LPB is about, telling Louisiana's stories. And it is thanks to the Office of the Lt. Governor and the people of Louisiana that LPB has this opportunity to share the stories of all 64 of Louisiana's parishes with the world."

WYES and WLAE-TV in New Orleans anticipate airing LA64 in April. Mississippi Public Broadcasting, Alabama Public Television and Arkansas PBS anticipate airing LA64 this summer.

New episodes of LA64 premiere Mondays at 8 p.m. on LPB. Episodes stream concurrently with broadcast at lpb.org/la64 and on LPB’s YouTube channel. Check local listings and lpb.org for encore broadcast information.

LA64 will air new episodes over five seasons to cover all 64 parishes.
